Roemichs International School is international in both name and function. It caters for both national and international pupils/students from Crèche to post WAEC offering a British/Nigerian curriculum that prepares our children for national examinations, Cambridge IGCSE and A level examinations and also university foundation courses. The school caters for both boarding and day scholars and also offers a wide range of co-curricular activities.
When I started on the journey of setting up Roemichs International School some seventeen years or more ago I soon realised that the journey I was on would be challenging but rewarding. Challenging because, setting up any new institution from scratch is most definitely going to be so. Rewarding, because, I was slowly realising my dream of setting up a school that would offer the best education possible.
At the time I also thought that an appropriate logo for the school was and is “Excellence in All Things”. When you look carefully at the logo it doesn’t take much to realise that, in today’s global world and the associated ever increasing technology, it could almost be a long and winding road to achieve this but that has not swerved me from the dream which pushed me into embarking on this journey. My desire is borne out of a strong conviction that I wanted to do this for my children, Ilorin, Kwara State and Nigeria.
At Roemichs we believe in a holistic education that involves all stakeholders of the school, from staff to the children and their parents and guardians. We aim to ensure that our students leave us with the knowledge that, to be successful they need not only knowledge and understanding; but also need to learn how to make the best of what they know and to keep on learning into today’s fast developing world. By doing this Roemichs is cultivating excellent students who are grounded morally, spiritually, academically, socially and are impatient with mediocrity. Roemichs does this by working with all stakeholders because to achieve this, the home and the school must work harmoniously by supporting each other in all we are trying to impart into our children.
Roemichs students achieve academic excellence in all the examinations, both national and international, and with them gain admission into some of the most prestigious international universities in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Canada, USA and UK. I am proud to say that all of our scholars achieve or exceed their expectations. They leave the school as role models for their generation and all look forward to fruitful futures.
