Curriculum Overview

Curriculum Overview

Roemichs International School provides a rich curriculum where the curricula of both the UK and Nigeria are blended together. It is offered to learners of all years from Crèche to post WAEC.
The EYFS and Primary offer a curriculum that caters for the first 6 years of the 9 year Nigeria BECE programme and also caters for those pupils who may want to sit the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint examinations.
The high school  completes the 9 year BECE provision in years 7 - 9 and also prepares students for sitting the Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint examinations.
In the senior high school, students are prepared for both national (JAMB, WAEC and NECO) and international (Cambridge IGCSE) examinations.
Post WAEC provision is made to those who wish to study for the Cambridge A level.
In years 7 - 9 all students will experience a broad and balanced curriculum covering the following focused subject areas: English, maths, sciences, religious education, information technology, history, geography, French, Yoruba, physical education, art, design and technology, drama and music, home economics. All of these will be a blend of British and Nigerian content. Additionally, students will study PSHE (Personal, Social and Health education).
In years 10 - 12 students are divided into two sections following humanities or science based programmes. They are equally prepared for both the national and international examinations. Those students who request registration to sit for Cambridge IGCSE examinations receive additional periods of teaching and study.
A number of our students also undertake extra studies for the SAT IELTS examinations.

As each student prepares for life after Roemichs International School the educational foundation the school has given them ensures that they are able to apply for and join tertiary education institutions in the UK, USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia, mainland Europe and Eire – and of course Nigeria.
